BAAWRE : Chal Jahan Chalen Mann Ke Paon Re.
Baawre is the love story of a “Shayar”, who doesn’t believe in the concept of love and a singer, who from the core of her heart, wants to be Loved. The story is set against the backdrop of Lucknow. Later, their destinies take them to the ‘Entertainment Capital of India’, Mumbai.
This is a story of how they meet, fall in love, drift apart, compete against each other, become arch enemies, and eventually regain their lost love. This is also about the journey that both of them undertake: from small town artists to Bollywood celebrities, and of friends and family that they lose and gain, through the course of their journey.
Yamini is an accomplished singer and thanks to her popular stage performances, she is deemed as a local star. These commercial performances, however, are arranged by her father against her will. Yamini’s father, Raghvendra Singh, controls her life completely. He believes that he understands and values her talent more than she does and therefore he has the right to decide what is good for her career and what is not.
Yamini leads a dual life: one of an introvert, quiet girl, and the other of this ‘singing sensation’ of the town. At heart, she is romantic who wishes to live like any other normal girl of her age.. she wishes to break out of her house and see the world.
On the other hand, Nikumbh is a writer at heart. Theatre is his passion and he teaches competitive English for a living. He is carefree and a little moody, lives with a philosophy that big dreams can be achieved in small cities. He wants to take theatre in lucknow to great heights.
The cherry on the cake is the small town nuances, feel and culture which the show beautifully captures.
