Shaleen Sharma

After learning Hindustani Classical Vocal &Tabla from Pt. Ashok Roy in Doon School, Shaleen was a member of the Rock Band ‘Aqua-Regia’ while completing his Engineering from IIT Roorkee in 1989. He was one of the founder members of the first Indian Classical and Jazz fusion band – ‘Indian Ocean’ from 1990-94. Performed at various Indian & International venues like the Edinborough festival UK, Khajuraho Festival India, Tokyo Jazz Festival and others. He subsequently moved to Chennai, established a studio and started composing music for Hindi and Regional Films. “Shakthi” in Tamil and “Zor” in Hindi went on to becoming chartbusters. His Indian pop album “Paisa” achieved cult status in 2002.

Shaleen is a music director with over 100 TV commercials to his credit like Cadbury’s, Unilever, Coca cola, Kellog’s, Bank of America. He has received many prestigious Radio & TV awards including the Indian National award for best radio station signatures tunes for World Space Satellite Radio stations in India. Shaleen has been associated as a music director for many popular TV serials with all major broadcasters in India.

At Sunshine, Shaleen specifically handles the development process in the Feature Film Content Division. Being a writer and lyricist, he brings onto the table a different perspective and fresh thinking on content development. He helps the core team in shortlisting and procuring feature film ideas as Creative Consultant.
